Biography:

Xueren Huang is a professor at Wuhan Institute of Physics and Mathematics,Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has been engaged in optical clocks for nearly 20 years. His research interests are transportable optical clock and quantum logic clock, including precisely physical measurements based on these clocks. His work is supported by National High Technology Research (863 programme) and National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC)

Abstract:

For the past 20 years, outstanding performances have been obtained by optical atomic clocks. Transportable optical clock plays a key role in optical frequency comparisons and relativistic geodesy survey. The presentation will be concentrate on the prospects and progress of transportable optical clock. A compact transportable optical clock based on the  electric quadrupole transition at 729 nm of single 40Ca+ ion have been developed in WIPM. The physical system of this device, an integration of compact single ion and lasers modules, has been constructed within a volume of 0.54 m3 apart from the electronics. To our knowledge, this size is currently the best achieved compactness compared with any type of optical clocks. A quasi-continuous 15-days frequency comparison of two similar prototypes shows that it has achieved fractional frequency instability as low as 4E-17 per day. This is an important step for transportable optical clocks towards field applications in various domains of precision science.

Oliver Jovanovic is a passionate physics teacher, winner of couple engineering innovation prizes (2012), invited external member of NASA-s asteroid mitigation team (several live online meetings in 2013).

Abstract:

In classical mechanics we learn that, as a result of energy conservation, falling objects have constant energy (picture 2). In other words; even though speed of the falling object increase, its energy remains the same.    Rest mass increase as a result of work against gravitational field implies that we need to extend the law of energy conservation to the falling photon as well. In other words; even though frequency of the falling photon increases its energy is constant.

Abstract:

The field of Wave Theory is quite substantial. This field is considered something where an imagination is required to understand. We have unknown questions in this field that need research conducted; contributing to progression of partial differential equations and mathematics in general. The goal of this paper is to develop new concepts in Wave Theory; specifically towards the Navier-Stokes equation. Part of this concept development is showing velocity and pressure functions to exist before moving forward in the field. Imagine a theory existing prior to its manifestation. The missing concepts may have been found. Lets begin by recalling a concept from ordinary differential equations.
