Places to visit in Paris:
Musee d'Orsay: This beautiful museum houses a staggering collection of Impressionist art, as well as other items created between 1848 and 1914. It houses the largest collection of impressionist and post-Impressionist masterpieces in the world, by painters including Monet, Manet, Degas, Renoir, Cézanne, Seurat, Sisley, Gauguin, and Van Gogh. It is one of the largest art museums in Europe.
The Eiffel tower: One of the most well-known land marks in the world. Built by Gustave Eiffel in 1889 for the World Expo, the construction was completed after 2 years, 2 months and 5 days. Reaching a height of 324 meters, built of iron and more than 7,000 tonnes in weight. More than 250 million people have visited the tower since it was completed in 1889. The tower is the most-visited paid monument in the world. An average of 25,000 people ascends the tower every day which can result in long queues. Tickets can be purchased online to avoid the long queues.
Louvre Museum: World's largest art museum and a historic monument in Paris. One of the most famous art galleries, home to the iconic Mona Lisa. This historic building date back to the 12th century when it was originally a fortress, before it was a palace in the 16th century, later becoming a museum in 1793.
Arc de Triomphe: It is one of the most photographed landmarks in Paris. The Arc de Triomphe honours those who fought and died for France in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, with the names of all French victories and generals inscribed on its inner and outer surfaces. Beneath its vault lies the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from World War I.
Notre Dame Cathedral: It is one of the most popular landmarks in Paris, celebrated in the iconic story the Hunchback of Notre Dame, considered to be one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture, and it is among the largest and most well-known church buildings in the world.
